you know its been a good 2nd half of the break when your college football team is national champs and your boyfriend willingly spent a week getting to know your parents when he was sick....and says that you look beautiful when he sees you in the morning without makeup and with a black eye.
how did i get so lucky? andddd we went to moody gardens and ate fungus...i had a fantastic time! we saw a shark 3D imax, the aquarium with penguins and otters, rainforest with little monkeys and pretty birds, and a spongebob ridefilm thingy. all in all, i liked watching the penguins swim and looking at the scenery outside on such a beautiful day. i handled being in public well and therefore pat myself on the back.
so im spending some time with my folks now that josh is gone. i think i need to start getting back in the swing of things...aka checking my email regularily, doing some teachery things like reading a textbook and hunting down great childrens books, and of course buying professional looking clothes to add to my teacher wardrobe (NOTE-- not denim jumpers with yellow school busses!).
PS: CAMPING THIS SUNDAY... i.cant.wait. can we say repeat of january 2005 only betterrrrrr?

ahem:
i know its been a while since my last update, no need for excuses. this semester has ended, without too much stress i am happy to report. i found out yesterday that i made all A's (again) which means im way stoked. hopefully this will encourage my parents to stop breathing down my neck.
im in Spring now for the break. i had a exceptionally nice few days in austin though before coming here- a few get togethers with jen, manoj, nick (my fav), kasey, josh, jerry and brian, etc. trail of lights, 3 months with josh, celebrating my passing of the test in Columbus, coming home party for natalee and the wonders of a tent, barfly's, and lots of other fun memories.
im attemtping to have a good attitude towards being in Spring for the break- im gonna focus on family, reading books about my career, getting josh's ass up here at some point, Dallas for New Years (fingers crossed) and maybe hang out with 1. John Rose 2. Craig Strube 3. John Diamond 4. Katie (duh) and possibly *Andrey *Schneller *Paul/Will *Brooke *Daly. I really hope there is no awkwardness experienced over the break by bumping into ppl that i would rather stay away from.
oh and to all those out there who may be expecting a present from me: forget it. my car got towed this weekend and ate all my xmas present funds. bah-hum-bug.

having the day off of work, shopping, seeing Shop Girl, eating Abuelo's, watching cops and the first 48, and spending the whole day with my wonderful boyfriend equals the best.sunday.ever.
on another topic. i seriously need to stop doing stupid shit when im drunk. and i would like to remember the ride home on at least one thursday night. poor josh has to always deal with drunk meredith. oh but its fun =)
today is the last time i have to go to my stupid math methods class. thank the lord. i cant stand doing pointless assignments for a teacher who shouldnt be in charge of preparing future teachers. arg.
i had a really great time visiting marc and katie in san marcos on friday with manoj. i seriously miss those kids, and im wicked jealous of their duplex and new puppy, Penny Lane. sooo f-ing cute. the night consisted of drinking games that caused my stomach to hurt from laughing so much, karaoke, mario cart, leg wars, and lots more fun stuff. yay.
and thats all i have to say right now.

im home now. i have mixed emotions about being in spring- but i am definitely looking forward to some R&R...any break from college, teaching, and working is welcomed. family is in town tomorrow, and i may try to see any of the following friends: mike, katie, john diamond, brooke...oh and im supposedly going to Sweeny to visit josh and party on saturday-->that should be interesting =)
the past week consisted of these happy things:

*getting a great 6 months review at work

im done with student teaching this semester, thank god. i loved my kids and teacher, but i still will enjoy my tuesdays and thursdays off. i will probably end up working on those days though- seeing how my new flip nokia put me in debt...stupid breaking of phones.
i think im getting a raise today...probably not much, but something cause ive been there for 6 months (yikes).
i realized today that i really really miss jerry and mer time....i read a post from a year ago about how we joined kasey for lunch and i miss those times. i love jerry so so much, even if i only get to catch up with her for a few minutes every few days (so sad). im going to do my best to be around more- even though i love hanging out with josh all the time, jerry had my heart first:)
we just made ice cream in my science class. crazy.
my weekend at home was interesting- pretty uneventful...but some cool things did happen
-quality driving/music listening time with manoj
-homemade breakfast
-free haircut after over a year
-WALMART trip (badly needed)
-fun games of pool
-seeing lots of ppl from old times
-drunkity drunk drunk
ok that is all.....oh and im ready for FALL weather, not this shitty humid 75 degree sack of shit

ok so i broke my phone on accident...murdered it really. it was clipped on my back pocket as i sat down in manoj's car after the deathcab show. the sliding motion pulled the front flip part completely apart from the number part of the phone. im pretty sure its completely not-fixable. sooo upsetting....cause it was a relatively new phone.

ummm i could update about this weekend but im in class and just concerned about people getting in touch with me =(
oh and i had to spend 8 freakin dollars to park on campus cause my ID fell out of my pocket at some point this morning and i realized this as i was stepping onto the bus to swipe my ID....no time to wait for the next bus and go look for my ID, so i had to drive. pooo.

i had a really great day student teaching today- i dont know exactly what it was that made it soo good, but i just really have fallen in love with all my kids, and i jumped in and taught the class at a moments notice more than 3 times and did really good. thats happy.
im going thrift store shopping soon with josh to try to find more things for our tyler durden/marla costumes. hope that all works out. and im gonna look out for some margot/richie tennenbaum stuff for jerry and brian. im sooo excited for this weekend; halloween party tonight with ed. girls, 3D IMAX after my drug test on friday, tiffany's halloween party on saturday, etc.
drunken boy distrubed my sleep and caused me to miss class yesterday, but waking up next to him made it all ok. =)

i've been having really really wacky dreams lately- and remembering them which is not normal for me. ive dreamt:
*the astros won the 4th game on Monday
*i was going to the prom (but for college or something)
*i was an aggie.... barf
*i was a really really mean and scary teacher who loved to make kids cry
what.the.fuck.
yesterday student teaching went well, i finished my homework ahead of time, watched the big lebowski, drank a bottle of wine, and listened to my song. good fuckin day.
today i will go to class, tutor, do laundry, make tacos with jer, go to a coworkers show at redrum with nick. swwwweeet.

I had a lot of fun this weekend. It started with double whiskey and cokes at joshs, going downtown thursday night with him, zack, abdullah, and lori. It included more whiskey, spilling drinks off the second floor of the aquarium (i think), falling down in the street, blaming a cut on getting in a "knife fight", dancing and earning josh high-fives from other dudes, and getting sent home in a cab. the night didnt make sense and we were stupid. haha.
woke up friday kinda hungover, surprise surprise. ate chuys:) and then went home to shower and go to work. work went really well, i kept myself busy and it was the first time in a long time to be in a good mood while working. after work the troops gathered and went to brittney's to drink. i took it pretty easy that night as a favor to my liver and the ppl i drove there. i had so much fun being around the people i used to see all the time.... it sucks that we've all gotten so busy that we cant party together anymore. oh and we quietly made fun of some freshman there, which is always fun...but it makes me feel old when i have to buy them beer. and i think i may have scared jerry josh and brian when i ran over a curb because of the fog on my window that hadnt yet defrosted. but all was well and we got home safely.
saturday josh and i slept in and i took him home. i met up with manoj and went to the colorado football game. it was soo fun on such a pretty day. we pretty much killed them in the first quarter and so the excitement level was amazing. the band did a tribute to the beatles and we were on the AE fan cam. rock. we ended up walking all the way home and i immediately showered. josh came over before we went downtown for the second time in one weekend and i decided it would be a good idea to let esteban drive us in my car to drop us off on 6th (to avoid waiting for a cab etc.). bad idea, he ended up backing out and scratching the shit out of the front left bumper on the pole next to my car. what?! how hard is it to back up without turning the wheel? so then we called a cab and waited around for over an hour. stress. 6th was fun, meeting up with more sweeny people who knew josh, and we spent all of our time at coyote ugly (not my favorite place). I stayed pretty sober and ended up driving scotts car back to camino, i was proud. we continued partying there till like 530 in the morning when i fell asleep inbetween 2 boys:)
called in sick to work sunday, ate freebirds, watched the astros game, went to HEB, watched Rome and Curb your Enthusiasm.
it seems like my weekend updates are always fuckin long and involve partying almost every night. oh well.
also, now that i found out i have a new reader, im going to attempt to be more mysterious- cause he's a pro at that:) he's also a pro at getting out of playing a song for me. *that doesnt make sense:)*

last night jerry brian and i had a nice hour where we sat on the couch and watched random tv...including COPS our favorite trash!!!
i was supposed to play tennis today again but my work schedule got rearranged so now im working today right after class and tutoring...but now i get thursday off=) and friday i think the whole crew of jerry, brian, brittney!, josh, me, and hopefully kasey/abdullah, possibly patrick, are gonna get together and drink. i am sooo soo excited. its been like a bazillion years since ive seen brittney.
ok this is pretty much a bullshit update...but i woke up in a really good mood today and wanted to update. i missed the bus (boo) but got to drive and listen to kanye instead- so no harm done.

so this weekend was a blur, but ill try to recap ...
thursday i was 2 hours late for student teaching, stupid alarm clock broke
then manoj and i went to el arroyo for happy hour
played pool (won 3 out of 5 games sucka)
poor manoj got into a little fender bender but smooth talked it
went downtown at 930 and left by 12 something....and tripped getting into manoj's car....slick
friday i cleaned my place (amazing)
then worked 5-930
then joined jerry and brian at a party
got dropped off at mike & bryan's old apt to hang/drink with josh and his sweeny friends
had tons of fun listening to drunk josh play the guitar and then his friends serenaded us with barry white, etc
dont remember the ride but came back home
saturday we woke up at like 10
ate at kerbey lane
drank and smoked at kasey's while watching the amazing cotton bowl
noted the beautiful fall weather =)
went to work 5-930
joined manoj, paul, dustin, mike and sherry downtown
enjoyed the beautiful night on top of maggie may's
was reunited with tbs at manoj's place and ate pizza rolls
sunday worked all day..grr
got home, did homework, and watched Rome and Dodgeball with josh
the end. i need to get more sleep on weekends, especially sober sleep....

yay today was a great day. i mean i had to go to class, but it was interesting--actually about stuff that ill need to know when i have my own classroom (in a freakin year...eeee). and then i got to start tutoring for my reading difficulties class. my girl is named addy and she is motivated, cute, and talkative...i thought making her stay after school for reading would be like pulling teeth, but she was simply psyched to work with a UT student. also, i was apprehensive cause she is in 4th grade and the oldest kids ive taught is 3rd grade...but obviously that fear was crushed. awesome.
i did laundry today right when i got home, and then folded/hung it up the minute it was finished. i think that was a first for me.
im going to the new amsterdams concert on the 25th with manoj for sure now, and im pumped. oh and manoj- my friend in my cohort hangs out with the drummer of the impossibles....i totally thought of you when she mentioned it!
i now have a phone in my apartment as well as my cell. for all of you who want the number, text me or something....i cant just post it on here---duh
this week flew by for me and im soooo glad.
